Recommendation for Replacement Brake Pads and Rotors?

My Brakes are starting to squeal and when breaking very slow speeds. Does so especially in Drive thru at McDonald's, LOL, pretty annoying.
I have a mechanic that charges same price whether I change out rotors or just brake pads for labor so I may just do both as same time.
Can someone recommend some good replacement brake pads and rotors. Looking for something that is priced decent and either meets or exceeds OEM in performance.
I had Bremob Cross drilled slotted Rotors on my IS300 and thought they were good. What do you guys think of Slotted or Cross drilled for the FX ? Ceramic pads ?

OEM brakes will always squeeks no matter how often you change them. I currently use the Stoptech slotted and drilled sports rotors and Akebono ProACT ceramic pads. The combination so far is very good as far as stopping power. I can't say much for the Akebono longevity since I just replaced the pads from the the previous Stoptech pads which really does not last me that long. You can always do BBK. Common BBK set up by some members here are the Kiddo, AP Racing, Brembos and the more enterprising ones the FX50 Akebono BBK retrofit. Do some search and you will find lots of discussions about it.

I hear OEM stop but the best but you get the squeal or sometimes people do OEM on front or something and then ceramic on back so that u get half great stopping and half no squeal type thing

Because OEM also stop very good when its wet. The performance typically no squeal but perform worse when wet outside that's why if u want to use both

Does anybody know of very expensive pads that have the best of both worlds? Stopping power of OEM in all conditions but no squeal?

Mechanic said I need new brake pads in the front, I might also do the rotors. I am hearing a lot of good things about Akebono for pads is there more than one type from Akebono?. Any recommendations on rotors?
I can get the pads from AdvancedAuto. Should I do cross drilled or slotted or blanks ?

I got the r1 concepts drilled slotted with hawk pads. not really liking the pads that much. seems like it doesn;t like to bite

hawk pads work best after certain miles, id say i drove good on my HPS 2500-3500 miles before i felt the difference

Really on edge here, want to get the Crossed Drilled and Slotted for looks atleast. I was also going to get the Akebono's like you
Where did you get your rotors? I see rockauto has good prices on rotors happen to have the part numbers ?

Had this issue with my back pads, brand new factory pads.... I replaced them with the basic duralast pads from autozone (for the mean time while I search for an entire new setup) and have had ZERO issues. Going on 3k miles with them too. Easiest pads in the world to replace....god I love the simplicity of this car.

I got mine from Rock Auto. I originally ordered it from Autoanything for a cheaper price but they were out of stock. Below is the complete set up including the Stoptech stainless steel brake lines upgrade. I suggest you to contact Autoanything. They are offering 15% disc. You can drop the price further by removing the brake pads from the package so you can get the Akebonos. ST brake pads did not last long for me, for the rear at least.

In my search I did look at Rockauto and Autoanything as well as brakeguys. I ended up buying the Power Stop Crossed Drilled and Slotted Kit #K2767 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005FKAZBO/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
I contacted Amazon whom charged $30 more then Rockauto and they beat the price with promotional discount. $300 shipped for all 4 rotors and pads :good:. Using Prime received it within 2 days. For my Wifes TL I went with Centric Premium rotors and Akebono ProACT pads
The reviews for The Power Stop Kit are very good everywhere I looked and its backed by 3year warranty. Installing them next week will let you know how it goes and how they fell.
As far as apperance they have lot less cross drill holes then stop techs and quality appears to be very good on both pads and rotors.

Have the Powerstop rotors and evo pads on the car now. Noticeable difference over stock plus looks awesome through the rims. Overall I am happy its only been 3 days but no noises, squeals in foward or reverse (especially when backing into my space at work :rotfl:). Brakes don't vibrate at all when pressed. (Quite different then my IS300 with drilled and slotted which I could feel in the brake pedel when pressed). I followed the break in period as instructed by Power Stop. So far I recommend them. Will post some pictures shortly. Just need to find out what the 3 year 36K warranty covers, not single piece of info in the box....hmmm.

Side note Premium Centrics and Akebono PROAct on my wifes TL also rock. Solid setup stops on dime thanks for all the advice!:good:

Quick question, are the rotors and pads the same for a 2012 fx35 and a FX50 with sport breaks? I called Infiniti and they told me both vehicles use the same rotors and pads. Just trying to make sure before I order the parts to replace front and rear rotors and pads.
