Can anyone recommend a body shop in the far west Chicago suburbs near the Fox Valley area? I got caught in the May 20th hail storm and took over $3K damage according to State Farm insurance. Window chrome trim, hood, roof, doors, A pillars... It even shattered the passenger tail light.

I want to make sure the work is done right so I don't have any future issues as I plan to keep this FX for a while.

What happens when stuff like the A pillars are damaged? How are these parts replaced?

Aren't they part of the monocoque of the car?

EDIT: And yes I know very little about body work and stuff like that.

Motorsport Collision in Saint Charles, PM me for details

Much obliged. PM sent.

Ugh sucks. Do you have more photos to share?

Thanks. My family jokes how hard I try to take care of her so this just makes me ill. She would have been in the garage but I had to stay late for work that night. I had a few more pictures but it's hard to see most of the dents since luckily they're fairly shallow. I'll see if I can get more shots that show them clearly.

I was wondering that myself. I would guess they would use filler on the A pillars but I'm worried if one good rock hit could compromise it. I've had good luck with paint-less dent removal of door dings in the past so hopefully they can work some of that magic on the roof, hood, and doors. All chrome trim is being replaced, including around the quarter windows at the back. It took two rounds with the insurance adjuster to find all the damage but I was lucky compared to others I saw there. One G35 looked like it was attacked with a golf club.

That's why I want to find a good shop since there will be a fair amount of dismantling of the car and I don't want rattles or squeaks later.

I'd try to pop all those dents rather than use body filler/paint. There's guys who do wonders on worse.

Ill try to find out what they are doing on the dents. Theses guys are nothing to laugh at or question. They work on awesome cars.

Mine is all fixed. Thanks again for recommending Motorsport Collision, Drkvampire2001, they did a great job. It took almost two weeks since insurance companies and dealerships were backed up with all the hail damaged cars in the area. They managed to do paintless dent repair on everything, even the dents in the a-pillar.
