rear shock absorbers leaking??

After my oil change, my dealership told me that my rear shock absorbers are leaking thus, needs to be replaced. Is this valid? I never encountered such situation. Any ideas?
ps. I have 04 fx35 w/ sport + tech package.

the rear shocks are cheap and can be done yourself or a local shop... much cheaper than the dealer..

$60.79 each

Yes, if leaking, needs to be replaced.

thanks guys. I thought the harsh ride was part of owning the fx35 but thank god that it was due to leaking shock.

You have a 2004, most likely they were never replaced. You should think about the front struts too.

It'll be a world of difference. After all those years and miles, they lose their damping ability.

Check out my thread, I went overboard and you should be fine with just shocks and struts.

its funny that my fx35 just passed 38k miles and the shocks needs to be replaced. Before my fx35, i had 06 g35 with 50k and never had such problems.. I digress, anyways thanks guys for your recommendations.

Haha, 38k? I thought you'd have like 100k! Yeah, mine have never been replaced... I have the parts sitting in my living room.

I've read in some posts that having a good shock absorber will help in order to not have some parts will not act up wrong. Try to change it, or if not, monitor the status of your shocks. If it still persists, then change it right away.
