Rear hatch strut replacement

My rear hatch opens sometimes but mostly opens 5" then closes back up. Fault code says my passenger strut needs replacement. Has anyone replaced theirs? Looks fairly simple. Typical cost?

Is there any chance your QX70 is still under warranty? Last year my 2015's rear hatch struts were making a screeching noise when the hatch would go up and down (when it was cold outside) and I was able to have them both replaced under warranty. When I went to pick it up, the dealer gave me the price breakdown for everything. The struts were around $1200 each plus labor, for a total of close to $3K that warranty took care of for me.
 
Good call S3R3BRO, it will be under warranty. I forgot it was a 4 year warranty as I bought this used when it was 8 months old. My warranty is up in March. WHEW, dodged a wrench there.
