Rear Hatch Rattle

I have an Alpine 500w rms sub in a ported box. I now have a bad rattle, not even with the sub turned up much, around the rear hatch and bumper. It is loud outside the car even though you can barely hear it inside and friends have mentioned hearing it in traffic when they are beside me. I pulled off the rear hatch trim and looked but there seemed to be nothing that would cause such a rattle. Any ideas?

Probably license plate. That would be about the only thing that's louder outside the car than inside. Also, the hatch is fiberglass, so it resonates less than metal. I used to put a little dynamat on the plate if I had rattling. Also, you may want to use all 4 screws to hold the plate/frame on if you haven't already done so. I've seen cars where they use 2 screws and every time the sub hits, it sort of flaps and vibrates.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I have a metal license plate frame and I took it off along with the plate and it still rattled. I think it is either something behind the bumper or deep in the bowels of the rear hatch.
