rear hatch button not working

just checked on the org and this is what i have for you to try:

1. if you have the owners mannual, look for where the fuse is for rear hatch and replace it. In all likelyhood this should fix the problem.
2. unlock the car, open all doors and then try to open the rear hatch while leaving all doors open. this will explain the cause to be old battery.
3. it could be weather related. mine died while it was frigging cold but that very evening it started working again.

EDIT: FUSE NO. 18. 15 AMP BLUE FUSE

Strange, mine didn't work yesterday either. I had to go inside a store to run an errand, I left the car running and the rear hatch would not unlock either using the remote or the switchgear. When I got home and had the car off, it was working fine. My passenger front lock wasn't working either, but worked at home. I swear the hot weather messes with the locks and buttons. The lock actuators are like the only issues I have with my car. Ever. :sluggish:

Every now and then, mine decided not to work too. What I have been doing is to pull the fuse located in the fuse panel by the dead pedal in the driver side and put it back in. There are times I have to do that a couple of times. It's not frequent enough to drive me to look into it further.

Thanks for all the input guys. Now that I think of it I am having problems with my locks not working properly on the other doors. Some of the doors will unlock, but some will not. Do you suppose that it would be more battery related for that issue as well along with the back hatch?

some works, some don't....i would lean towards dead/dying actuators but i don't believe that all of them would start acting up at once. it would be better if you go to autozone and have them check the battery. is it oem battery or has it been changed? do you know?

I think OEM battery. Bought it off a company lease and haven’t changed it myself. I can’t remember which went out first. The door lock issue has been happening for some time and the back hatch broke some time ago as well and I never used it so I didn’t care. But now am starting to use it and am getting annoyed. I have tried the fuse thing before and it did not work.

Sorry for the OFF TOPIC theme, but, guys, I have an Elegance european version and I don't have a trunk open/close system. Is it possible to install it??

I replaced my drivers front and passenger rear actuators, which both went out the same week. Here's the deal now....went out to get in the hatch and it wouldn't unlock. Checked the rest of the car and the drivers rear and passenger front not working! Went out this morning and everything worked. What the crap!

Has it been hot temperature wise by you? My hatch did not work yesterday too. I notice when its 90+ degrees out, they don't work as well. But it worked fine this morning.

I've read in other threads, then noticed myself, that my hatch wont open unless my passenger door is unlocked. If my passenger actuator wouldn't act up when it got warmer, as previously mentioned, it wouldn't be an issue for me, but unfortunately it is.

Check to see if opening the pass door lets the hatch pop.

Anyone think this sounds like battery/fuse issue rather than actuator. Crossed fingers for cheap fix.
