Rear driver (interior) door locker not flipping

So today someone went to get into my car and the door would not unlock with the keyless entry nor will it lock.
I can manually do it myself but it feel like something is in the way of the flipper. Is this a common issue? or just take off the door panel and get a good look at it? thank you for all responses.

the door actuator might be acting up

yeah upon further inspection it's the actuator. I realized that all of the door flippers are a little sluggish. Any DIY's available or pics that someone has done in the past? I've never done an actuator before.
