rear cupholder not popping out?

like the question says, i noticed the rear cupholders not popping out.
you guys know how to dissect the parts and see whats going on?

BTW, i got my car back from the bodyshop b/c the breakin issue.
They fixed it pretty well, and im satisfied with it, except the fact that they drove my car around a bit. Is this how its done when you leave your car at the bodyshop? Anyways, ill post the fixed pics sometime during tomorrow when my exams done.

drove it how much? slight driving for transporting is not bad, a mile or 2 most... if your talking 10-215 miles or more then

take the whole lower seat up to straighten out the cup holder, it's pretty easy...

about 20 kilos.. one or two miles/kilos, i wouldn't have noticed it.
And only if they filled the gas to where it was, i wouldn't be particularly pissed with it.
i put 20 bucks gas on my way to the shop, and when i picked it up, the empty light was on..so yea..people do that huh?

in terms of easiness, i can't really trust you sir.
you are so professional, have bunch of fans here, and i don't think anything will be impossible/difficult for you:laugh:
if you dont mind enlightening me, What do you mean by take the lower seat up?

There are 2 black loops/ ring like circles at the bottom of the rear seat.. When you pull them together at the same time it help pop the seat up.. That way you can find out what's going on with your rear cup holder. It has happened to me before, accidently the part that drops down when you open the cup holder, sag down a bit more than usual and it doesn't let it pop out how it suppoust to.. Good luck solving this problem.

My cup holders started to come out very slowly and stop mid-way and I'd have to pull them out the rest of the way... I have no idea what caused it, but every time I drove the car, I'd spend a few minutes popping the thing out, pulling it all the way out, pushing it back in and then just re-opening it over and over. After about a week of doing that, it worked just like it did when I first got it and was amazed at all the sweet ass slow-moving stuff (it's the small things that get me )

So i took the rear seat out, and try to see whats going on.
As far as i know, there wasn't anything which generates force to push the cup holder out. there was something like a roller with silver metal strip which rolls around it. It seems like its the one which pulls out the holder, i should go down check it out again.
any adivse is welcomed.

I would guess there should be some sort of spring inside there, otherwise it would not come out on its own. (unless turbocad put a linear actuator in it )

so yeah.. i thought of spring too, but it was actually the metal strip around the roller which pulls the holder out. the strip was suppose to roll around and pull out the holder when the button was pressed. Now i need to get really strong elastic band which will last long enough. the problem is that the rubber band must be short unstretched, and stretch at least 3 times than original so that it can pull the holder out completely and pushed in as well.

got the perfect thing=)
Sorry to Mr. Armstrong, but this armband is perfect in every aspect, size strength, elasticity and everything. i had to cut into pieces:wink:
