Rear cross member bushing

Yeah, I'm pretty sure those were all V6 installs, the 5.0 stuff is different. Mine is dead too, and I'm thinking I may have to "pour" my own poly bushing.

Same question. Have you been able to source a bushing? Whether it be whiteline or z1 or another brand that is poly? As opposed the OEM

I filled my 5.0 diff mount with 3M urethane window weld a few days ago. I'll report back with the results once I drive it.

Saw a video of a guy doing this on YouTube.

short term solution. Yes.

What was your reasoning for not wanting to replace the bushing?

As you seem to already be aware, there is no replacement bushing available. That's why I didn't replace it.

As for filling it with urethane being a temporary solution, have you seen the failure rate of the factory bushing? If anything, this is a more robust solution than installing a new subframe with the OEM bushing. All voids were filled and it is now solid, albeit a combination of rubber and urethane.

excellent. Please keep me posted on how it drives.

increased rigidity? Or or any noticeable changes?

appreciate you chiming in on the topic. It seems to be a popular remedy.

in any of my other vehicles, I just simply purchase new bushings. So this is a first for me.

If I do go ahead with this, i would imagine a grease needle used for applications such as ball joint lubricant is the best bet. The less disturbance to the original bushing the better.

I recorded a video of the process, I'll post it up once I drive and confirm it worked.

Yes, it's absurd that there's no replacement bushing for the 5.0, but that's what we get for buying a car with a lot of one-off parts on it.

This is definitely true.

that would be excellent if you are able to put something together.

Appreciate this immensely

Alright so things haven't been going great with the FX50, but I have been able to drive it a little after filling the rear diff bushing with poly, and I'd say it reduced the clunking by 80-90%! Here's the video I made of what I did:
