Rear console latch

Somehow the little handle that pulls down the center armrest on the rear seat is either buried inside or came off. From what I can feel, it seems it retracted inside. When I stuck my finger inside the split at the seam, it seems I can feel the handle buried but can't get it out. I cant lower the center armrest on the rear seat.

Does anyone know how to lower the rear armrest if I can't pull that little latch handle? Is there any other way? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Just to be clear: I am not asking how to lower the rear seats, just the armrest/center console so I can have access to the cup holders.

Same thing happened to me the pull somehow vanished. To get to the lever I used a curved pick to pull up and out on the lever to release the armrest. Eventually I would like to repair this with a new cable but the lever is a bear to get to and getting to the small hole on this lever would be a trick and I dont use the backseats much for people with drinks anyway.
