Really like my FX50s, but the FX45 is better looking....

The 50 is too bulgy with too many over the top rounded parts. The FX45 has cleaner lines and looks more elegant. I know it's all subjective but I really feel they got it right with the original design. Wish I could transplant the 50s everything into the body of the 45.

Why didn't you just get the 45 instead of the 50 if you like it more?

I used to own a 45 back in 2004 which I sold in 2004. I bought a Durnago. Had it for 10 years. Hated it but needed big towing ability. Now I don't need it so I sold the Durango and started test driving used 45s. The problem is I test drove a 50 and was hooked on the power, handling, and technology all of which is vastly better than the 45. The 50 has so much torque that it feels way faster than the 75 hp difference would imply. It feels more like 150 hp difference from SOTP.

So then I started looking at 2009s, and then decided I needed tech and sport and it turned into this slippery slope. I had budgeted $15K for a used 45 but ended up spending $46K on a 2012 FX50S with Tech with 26K miles.

Still, every time I see the first gen FX body roll by, I wish mine looked like that.

I like the looks of the 2nd gens much more than the 1st; but for the price you can pay, I think the 1st gens are one of the best values on the used market.

just wait couple years for the 3rd gen to come out lol
but yes i agree with you on the design

Agree with u sorka...would be awesome if u cud swap the internals of the 2nd gen into the 1st...always thought that myself

Put all the added power and technology aside and just focus completely on the gorgeous looks.
Now if you ever want to trade, just let me know.

Everyone has their own tastes but I find the 2nd gen to look much more modern and stylish with bolder lines. Lower one and add at least the front spoiler and it's absolutely gorgeous. 5 years in and it still looks like a car you'd expect to come off the showroom floor.
