Rare JDM Engine Harness Cover

Thought this was cool looking in the engine bay, but doesn't really do anything except for look good. Might be nice to match this to the radiator panels being developed by GTSpec.

And yes Dave, they have options other than chrome.

Lil pricey, but I like how it cleans up the top of the engine and hides the harness - unless you have a tuck like Rookie...

probably because they figure the demand will be for the painted and not the polished

there prolly bending these from polished stock, so polished is no extra work, where painting is another step & materials...

That's a good idea. The harness under thatcover is the ugliest part of these engines.

Definitely no OEM cover. This looks like one of those cosmetic peices meant to help frame the plenum - which would be perfect for anybody that has an aftermarket plenum. I'm pretty sure it's sold as a "wire harness cover" so the attach points are in front of the plenum.

Wonder if Z1 would do a group buy for a reduced price?

They are polished individually, polishing them in bulk is not much, pc you have to do a decent chunk to meet minimal cost order.

Trying to confirm fit with Z1. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on one cuz I'm impatient and I don't mind being the test case. I'll take some install photos and post them.

Took a look at my engine bay to see what it would be covering. I noticed that the FX wire harness seems to dip down in front of the engine on the right side. Looking at the photos of the Z engine bay, I can't tell if the harness is routed the same way. If the routing is different, that could mean different brackets (mounting points). If so, I'm ready to make some custom brackets - but let's cross that bridge when we get to it.

Ordered the chrome because that's my thing and it was the cheapest. With shipping it came out to 122.50. Can always rattle can the cover to any color later. Was also thinking about deleting the "rare jdm" label on the cover and placing the infiniti fuji from my OEM engine cover on the center.

Doing this makes me want to get a wire tuck for the rest of the bay.

FX VQ35s are no different from the rest of the FM platform vehicles. Doubt you're gonna have to make anything custom. The rev up engine bay has less grounds on the harness at the front, the other engine bay with the black earls pro-flex is the raejdm owners engine bay which was wire tucked so stuff was moved around.
