Rails on an '08 FX35

I've looked around on here and see a few people talking about the "silver" rails on the FX...but it does not appear that anyone has found a solution to the problem. Firstly, does anyone know if these are Anodized AL or not? Second, what is the middle section of the Rail made of? Third, how the hell do you clean/remove spots on these rails?

If anyone has an elegant solution, or even a "get down and dirty" solution, I would love to hear it. Funny thing was, I called the Infiniti dealer and asked them how to take care of it...and they told me they just replace them. Well, I went down that route to see what they would cost, and they told me something like $1100/rail which is down right ridiculous. So any help in this avenue would be great.

thanks

Well it all depends on what kind of spots. Best place is to find a detail place and ask them.. im sure in florida you have plenty of those around.

I thought there would be a diy answer to this...but maybe there isn't...I posted this 11 days ago...figured that would be enough time for at least one answer

I know what you are taking about, its something similar to aluminum corrosion, like heavy water spotting. I haven't bothered with mine yet - but outside of waxing the hell out of them I'd probably hit a quality detail shop for tips.....
