Radar Detector mount

I did a search and couldn't find the answer. Does anyone know what size diameter the hole needs to be for Mikes Mount for a 2006 FX35 with homelink? His choices are 3/4 and 15/16. I measured the mirror neck with an open ended wrench and a 7/8 wrench fit perfect. He suggested the 15/16, but it seemed really big.

The most common was a 3/4 diameter round aluminum shaft and the other is a 15/16 sort of oval molded plastic mirror shaft.
