Radar detector invisicord install

So when you guys get pulled over, do you quickly pull the radar off and put it somewhere? I'm sure the cop would still notice or because it's so high notice you are putting your hand up by the mirror probably.

I used to have a radar detector and if the cop sees it, 100% you'll get a ticket from my experience, but I've been able to get out of tickets or nicer tickets if there is no trace of a radar detector. thoughts?

I'll try to take down and put away the radar detector discreetly if possible. I know exactly what you mean when the cop sees a radar detector. The general mentality on having a radar detector automatically label you're a speeder. So I would get it out of sight if I can if I got pull over.
 
Yeah, I found it that if you were speeding lets say going 20 over...they see a radar detector and you are getting 20 over....if you didn't have one, I notice I then get written up instead as 5 over, or able to update it to a parking ticket fine, or just get a warning.

When I was following Andy, Ian, and other FXs at times on Sunday, I could clearly see you guys when behind you......

A long time ago, once a cop was following me, I put my seatbelt on discreetly, he pulled me over and said I saw you put on your seat belt.
 
Hmm, maybe I should put on a darker tint on the hatch glass. I know Andrew have been thinking about doing that. Gotta read the Illinois tint law again :wink:
 
I do want to get like 5% tint in the rear hatch. Not to be discreet, but to block out the intense UV light and heat during the summer.

Incoming mini meet for rear tint and we might as well do the 3M clear bra on the front too. :wink:
 
Looks like BlendMount has their version of the Invisicord out, called MirrorTap.

On automatically getting a ticket if they see the RD, I'll have to ask the family fried that is a Highway Patrolman if he thinks that way.

He's going to ask his Highway patrolman friend if they will give you a ticket and not a warning automatically if they see the radar detector after pulling you over.
 
Depends on the cop and the situation. First ticket I ever got I was 16 and the cop said 'I was going to give u a warning since it's your first stop but since u have a radar detector, u are getting a ticket.'. That was my first stop/ticket and he wrote me up for the full amount of speeding: 19 over.

Ahh ok, I was gonna say if you're in Dallas I could probably do it for you. I made an installed my own invisicord. It's simple enough. Basically you just stick it in the rearview mirror holes until it works.

i mount the same way but using the direct power adapter that came with the package (valentine1) :disapointed:
 
Nice DIY. Thanks for the coupon code. I also think the blendmount is overpriced but it does go nicely. Will do suction cup mount mod later today (for now) :)
