hey wassup everyone so my power steering fluid is leaking out I looked under car its dripping from the driver side boot I haven't fully diagnose where the leak was coming from I assumed from the rack and pinion. do you have a write up or explain how difficult it is or what you had to do take it out anything will help thanks in advance.

I don't recall seeing a DIY for replacing the rack-n-pinion on here.

You will definitely need power tool as two of the three mounting bolts require 110 lb of torque. You will need ball joint tool to separate the outer tie rod to the knuckle. Separating the steering column lower shaft linkage to the rack takes quite a bit of time. Removing the 12mm cotter bolt at the steering column lower shaft is straight forward, but remove it from the rack can be quite a PIA. You also wanted to strap down the steering wheel to prevent is from spinning freely before separate the steering column lower shaft, if the the steering wheel allow to spin freely, it will break the spiral clock spring. No need to remove any sub frame or exhaust parts.

havent gone under yet but i would think it was close to the g35 they removed subframe but the only difference in fx35 is we have a j pipe thats blocking it as well

I'm pretty sure you don't need to remove any subframe on the FX. This is a picture I took when I was replacing the propeller drive shaft. I have to loosen the rack-n-pinion for the propeller shaft.

everythings basically bolted on then and the hardest part is remove the rack from steering column you said as long as its strapped down should be ok after loosing nut.
