Been reading a lot about valve body failures on these cars. However I read 2016 to 2017 QX70's fixed these issues. Is this all true or the just the internet giving me bad advice?
I would expect these issues are due to people not changing the tranny fluid every 30-60k miles. This would also be a problem with most Toyota's. Not sure what to believe here and I also reached out to Infiniti Dealer Service nearby and all he could say is make an appoint and we will check it out. Yeah I usually stay away from dealers and DIY my own maintenance unless its something beyond my skillset.

I can confirm from my research that there was an update to the Valve Body part number in March 2015, which replaced all four (4) previous part numbers. I've been running one of these myself that I purchased from a dealer and so far so good. Now what actually changed I have no idea, but it's the latest model here is that: part # 31705-X079B

The key is keep temps under control if you are going to be pushing it hard. The TCM sits right on the valve body, so this is what goes out basically due to extended periods of high heat. Bypassing the trans cooler in the radiator and installing a basic Hayden tube & fin oil cooler is the easiest/cheapest way if cooling is something you want to explore. About $50 on Amazon.
