I bought my QX70 a few months ago and it doesn't seem to be shifting correctly. It doesn't want to downshift under load out of 7th when it should, such as passing, and it shifts into 7th quicker than it should. When I give it a good shot of throttle to pass someone it feels like it goes to 4th gear and the tach wants to keep climbing and then back to 7th... its like 5th and 6th never gets touched. Is anyone else experiencing this and is it normal? I was thinking the prior owner drove the car one way and I drive a different way and the internal computer has it shifting for the previous owner. Does this make sense?

The ECU maps itself from your driving habits. I noticed this when I raced my cousins 2nd Gen vs my 1st Gen.. Took 5 runs until he could beat me.
I believe to reset the ECU, you unplug the battery overnight.
