quick exhaust question--hopefully it is a new one!

it seems like it would have to flow better than a transverse. its basically straight.


i am just curious because i dont see many on here do a custom exhaust
 
I built my own Y pipe from 2.5 SS w/ 2.5" interlocking flex section into 3.0" collector, deleted my resonator to my stock muffler. I've installed several 350z exhausts and the tone is bit more than I would prefer esp for an SUV, kept it simple. Some high temp black paint, and its all good.
 
i already deleted the resonator, did the y pipe help much--soumd/performance?

if you did it all together you may not know. The res delete made it a tad louder but i want a little more volume.
 
mine was rotting away, I was out of factory warranty, and my cat heatshield started to rattle, and had infiniti claim for a warranty cat. When the tech was under the car noted to me the exhaust was corroding, looked around for a well made exhaust, but not spending 1000 on it, so started to build my own. Gotta use my TIG skills for something right ?
 
I agree i dont have the budget or willingness to spend a grand on an exhaust. I wish the two guys that have the borla videos would be specific about there set up. Borla has not offered one for the fx so i assume they made their own with universal parts??
