Question with fog HID upgrade

I just completed installing a fog 6000k HID upgrade kit. Everything works good but have a question about the bulb orientation. When I installed the new HID bulb the tungsten electrode was in the 3:00 position. When I upgraded the headlight HID bulbs the electrode was on facing the bottom. Is this the correct postion for the HID for bulbs?

Not too sure exactly what position they need to be in, but as long as you seat them properly and hear a snap or click at the end of the turn (which should be clockwise) then they should be fine. It is VERY important you double check the the this as if they are not seated properly then water will tend to accumulate in the fog housing. Make sure to push in with some force on the bulbs then start the turn to snap the them into place.

I heard that they need to face down, If aftermarket some face up.

are we talking about the return wire?

It is a aftermarket bulb -MTEC to be exact. The bulb is seated correctly. I just was wondering if would have a different with beam focus. I'll check tonight. Thanks

Pre-06 FXs' have the 9006 and ours either face up or down. But since you have an 06 and the bulbs are seated correctly then I suppose they may face the 3 o'clock position. However, that would not and should not affect the light beam focus.
