Question to: All GTR wheel owners

When I purchased my first set of staggered GTR's I ran 265/50/20's front and 295/45/20' rears it worked very well (but only AFTER I had the rear wells rolled). Then I bought another set of wheels and ran 10.5's on all four corners with 295/40/20's. The 40's are really nice as they are lower sidewall's (but not too low), they still have enough rubber for a decent ride, and the rears cambered in nicely as the FX dropped. IF you run lower sidewalls like the 40's you are going to want to get coil overs or you will have a fairly large well gap.

I am really happy with the look. It took awhile to dial in but it was worth it.

Good info man, by any chance do you happen to have any pix of your 10.5" all around setup? I've been curious about if this would work right as far as streering without rubbing shocks or grinding fenders go.

Enlighten please!! Lol

EDIT: read the rest of the posts, got my answers!

It's been a busy two month and still the tires have not been mounted. After wasting 3 weeks waiting for rh06 and another 3 weeks for the proxxes, that ended up not coming I took my deposit and went else where. Went to 3 other tires stores to be told that they can only get the front and the rear is back ordered. Most places advised me to order them in the staes and one said my only alternative is falken zx stz04. Reviews on them are ok, and at this point its summer and im riding on winters still. So I went for the falken. However when they were about to mount it, the tpms are too short, and I bought brand new OEM tpms from my local infiniti dealership. I believe he gave me the tpms that would fit my oem 18s. Would they fit on the gtr rims? and any advice..
Thanks

Gee lance where did u find TWO sets of GtR wheels? Especially the same color

The gun metals are probably the most produced but definitely my favorite. I bought One complete set (staggered) then three other single 10.5's to get two that didn't need painting. At one point I was called out buy a guy on Nagtroc as being a "wheel reseller" (he was a little pissy) but I convinced him I had this obsession and he was cool. So at one point while I had my OEM FX wheels on I was sitting on seven GTR wheels....now I am kinda thinking I'd like to have a spare.....

Well that makes perfect sense then

Just make sure while looking for that spare you don't end up with five of varying sizes and colors

Regarding tire size. I am pretty sure the X5 4.8 sport wheels are the same specs as the GTR wheels but they run 275/30 - 315/35. Would that work on our cars? I'm sure they would stick out a bunch. I love the aggressive look of the 315 wheels on X5

Just went to BMW and holding an accessories catalog. There are five options for the X5 and X6 shown in this catalog, all 21" wheels.

Front: 10x21 on 285/35R21W
Rear: 11.5x21 on 325/30/21W

I think these are all run flats too.

Now this brings up an interesting question (sorry to jack the thread) -- how cool would these look (with adapters to fit our bolt pattern) on a FX! 2 inches shorter so would still work.

Those are for the new style wheels. The older style were 20's. The tire specs are actually 274/40/20 and 315/35/20

Here is a link to xbimmers.com on someone selling tires. They are runflats.

It looks like the wheels are actually 20x10f, 20/11r

Quick question. Is it easier to curb the GTR wheels or FX stock 20s with oem tire size? Also can someone PLEASE tell me how much the gtr wheels weigh WITHOUT tires. I goggled It and got varying answers

Google it and include NAGTROC in the search criteria. The GTR owners will have a definitive answer. (Pics of the wheels sitting on a scale) I've found it before but forgot where I posted the info here. The short answer is "not much less than the stock fx 20's". About 6lbs less for the fronts and 3lbs less for the rears iirc. Though they are of a much higher quality than the fx wheels and look damn good in person...

I see. BC from my experience (or rather my wife's) it is very difficult to curb stock 20s. The rubber will take the hit 99% of the time

Weights I'd say around 23 front and 28 rear. Varying answers of course, but Jeff got 27.8 when he weighed the rear.

Just did a little more digging and the rears are a little under 27 and the fronts are 25
