Question to: All GTR wheel owners

Rubbing shouldn't be an issue if you are up another finger or so. Sounds like you are all over rolling the rears (if you haven't done them already). There are two plastic tabs that can cath on the tire sidewalls (depending on your ride height and bulge) but its not a big deal and won't hurt anything the tire just burns off the plastic. You can tweak the front wells by hand if you bend them up slowly.

Since those pics I have raised the rears about 3/8"-1/2" (have to love CO adjustability) The slammed look in the rear was looking a bit "low rider" for my taste, the slight rake looks much better IMO.

What a tease, old pics without BBK.

Hah! Didn't even think about my pics being out of date Ed. I do think about my brakes every time I stop though, total confidence down steep Seattle hills......

Thanks for all of the input.. I ended up picking up the wheels about 2 weeks ago and ordered the tires.. just waiting to find some time to mount and balance them :) Pics will be up as soon as it's done..

really ranges, wheels in good condition will normally be $1,500 - $2,500. Tires can be anywhere from $600 to over a $1,000 depending on what you go with.

Thanks G - Lightly raising the rear CO's and pulling the rear lower brace did the trick with street rub, no major catches lately. Looking forward to summer and a wash job =)

I am also considering a set. I found a set from a rental car company who put aftermarkets on to their rental. The set is claimed as new condition and without tires for 2500$ (CDN). In Canada we don't have many gtr rims that go up for sale locally, but do you guys think the price is worth buying? I dont plan on lowering the car anytime soon, so if I get the gtr rims and the tires recommended I wont have any rubbing of some sort? Also, would the car maintain its factory feel/ride?
Thanks

Price is pretty good. You should be fine at stock height. Only difference in ride will come from the tires. If anything, it will probably get better assuming you have the crappy usual OEM tires.

Wheel set prices vary from USD1,500 to USD2,500. If you do not lower and you run 265/50's front and 295/45's rear you will have no rubbing and your ride should remain the same. Like Stu said if you are running OEM rubber and you change out to hankook RH06's your ride will be better in both comfort and performance.

Hey guys I just wanna make sure I'll be ordering the right tires:
265/50's front and 295/45's rear
Brand:
Hankook RH06
any other brands i should look at?

And for the lugs do you guys use the same set from the fx35? I think I'll have to buy an OEM set of TPMS from the dealership then?
Thanks again guys!

Your tire size and brand choice is excellent. Lugs from the 35 are nuts, pick up some gorilla lugs or some rays, not cheap but they are very nice and you have come this far grasshopper. I will say if you choose soft duralum lugs shops will always have to use the torque wrench. Anything else will beat them up.......

I'd like to keep the old TPMS in my winter tires as well. Im considering used TPMS, there are several oem nissan and infiniti online, being sold locally. But unsure if they are all universal or if they only work for certain ones such as titan, ex35, etc?
Thanks guys I can't wait to get the wheels on the car, and hopefully head out to some local iS meets this summer!

From what I understand you cannot have two sets up TPMS on your car because you can only have one synced with your ECU...I think. I left my TPMS in my OEM 20's which I think I will be using for winter and did not put TPMS in my GTR wheels. This is because tire pressure varies much more during the winter with tempurature change.

Exactly right Drew.
Thats why I also have my TPMS in my winter rims and not in my 20" Enkeis.
I don't mind checking pressures in the warm summer months but let the TPMS do it for me in the freezing cold..
