Hello all.. I just purchased a set of GTR wheels and need to know what size tires would best suit the wheels on our cars? I spoke with one member and he had said that he used 265.45.20 (front) and 295.45.20 in the rear.. Also what make tire do you guys recommend for the setup?

P.S. I will be selling my stock 20's with 3 month old TOYO rubber and tpms.. PM me if interested :smile (2):

Stock size, run those sizes. Or you can run 275/45/20 up front and 295/40/20 rear I believe. Hopefully Logan will confirm that he is running that. They are a tad shorter.

Most people will say Paradas or Hankooks. I know the Kooks don't come in the 295/40/20 though. :mad.:

I have 10.5's front and rear and am running STII's 295/40's on all four corners (I miss the kooks in the rain.....). The 265/50 front - 295/45 rear combo is the best way to go to maintain the same circumference and not have any AWD issues.

For people who have GTR wheels as their second set of wheels, did you decide to put your tpms in those wheels or leave them in your other set (which would most likely be winter wheels)

I left them in my other set. Tried to get my GTR TPMS to register, they didn't, but I have yet to try the dealer.

Thanks for the input guys!

Logan what sizes are you running.. I am ready to order my tires and would like to be sure I dont get stuck with the wrong size..

When I purchased my first set of staggered GTR's I ran 265/50/20's front and 295/45/20' rears it worked very well (but only AFTER I had the rear wells rolled). Then I bought another set of wheels and ran 10.5's on all four corners with 295/40/20's. The 40's are really nice as they are lower sidewall's (but not too low), they still have enough rubber for a decent ride, and the rears cambered in nicely as the FX dropped. IF you run lower sidewalls like the 40's you are going to want to get coil overs or you will have a fairly large well gap.

I am really happy with the look. It took awhile to dial in but it was worth it.

Drew-Definitely, my tires had ribbon slices in them from the inner lip wall burrs. Cosmetic not structural but they still pissed me off AND you can hear it when they bottom out.

My front tires have started to wear through the clips that hold the fender liners in place. I get a lot of melted plastic on it. It really does work when going 80 mph and you hit a little dip.

I think you can bend those up by hand by slowly pushing up on the metal behind the clips with a short 2 x 2 (or have a shop look at it). You don't need to move the lip much to gain back the room you need. My clips were melted almost completely off BTW.....

How low was your drop for the 295/45/20 rears to rub? I like that setup (with the 265/50 fronts) on paper, but if I have to combat rubbing issues I may reconsider. Also, do you have any pics of your car with the 295/40 setup?

Maybe a finger.5 in the rear? It's an issue of width and offset as the rubber rides out far enough past the lip that it rubs on the inner pillar (right on the door seam, run your hand in there you will know what I am talking about) that can't be rolled back. With the extra inch provided by the lower sidewalls the camber reaches critical mass and the wheels pull in big giving you plenty of room for tuck. Also - an additional point of reference on my fronts, I have 10.5's and the stretch on the rubber minimizes the bulge so no rub. In fact I am running a 5mm spacer on the front, I tried a 10 and it was juts a hair too much much. I'd love to get under there and beat the hell out of the well so it fits with the 10mm as it looked so perfect......

It is at the point a spacer could be added to the rear, I have gone back and forth whether to spend the money on 5mm spacers but for $450.00 I have worked it out with a speed shop that will use bolts and plates from a G35 and G37 to make it camber adjustable and then I can dial it in to where it just taps out (and push it back closer to spec)

I like the rubber configuration on this, not too much rubber, not too small so that it looks goofy, and just enough for comfort (the CO's help). Personally I thought the OEM rubber sidewall looked a bit too massive but some prefer more meat. No real good shots of my ride, never taken many photos but here you go - Dirty as ever (I wish my wife was this dirty =))

Excellent! Thanks for the quick reply and I appreciate the pics! It appears that you are a tad lower than I plan to go - I intend to get coilovers, too, but I will probably sit about a 1 - 1.5 fingers higher than you :smile (2):. Do you think rubbing would still be an issue?

I must admit that I agree with you about the profile of your tires, though - not too much and not a rubber band. I guess I just want to stay as close to OEM size as possible (speedo, etc.), but your fitment is only -1" (-3.5%) overall by my calculations, so not too bad.

Rubbing shouldn't be an issue if you are up another finger or so. Sounds like you are all over rolling the rears (if you haven't done them already). There are two plastic tabs that can cath on the tire sidewalls (depending on your ride height and bulge) but its not a big deal and won't hurt anything the tire just burns off the plastic. You can tweak the front wells by hand if you bend them up slowly.

Since those pics I have raised the rears about 3/8"-1/2" (have to love CO adjustability) The slammed look in the rear was looking a bit "low rider" for my taste, the slight rake looks much better IMO.
