once you change the RSA tires, you will notice a huge difference in ride stiffness and quality. .. I was amazed how heavy the RSA were.

anyways FX looking so clean

eJay- nice- by the way your trim above the doors is def fading-I can see it clearly in the pics-just had mine replaced no hassle from dealer at all.

Your goodyear tires look like they are barely worn - mine are half gone at 16k. Maybe the dealer put new rsa's on?

Oh really? I thought that that's how they are supposed to look like. I will definitely bring it in to the dealer and get them replaced. Did they replace both the upper and lower trip on all four doors? Or just the upper ones?

BTW, they said they didn't replace the tires. Maybe the previous owner put them on before he sold it?

Yes I do have the RSAs on. I guess I'll have to wait til these tires wear out!

The problem seems to effect only the top portion of the trim- take a close look at your car doors and you'll see it.

haha I guess I'll need drift lessons from master Wooky

i hear you guys got some nice snow today - perfect opportunity to do some donuts . You can learn from our resident drift master here, mr jbaker, on how to get sideways in snow haha :tonguey:

im not sure if it is specifically but i know that people have had to replaced under warranty. Some dealers do it, no questions ask, others refuse and you'll have to put up a fight.

I had mine replaced under warranty about a year ago. No questions asked by the dealership.

Your trims definitely look faded. You should get that covered since it will be out of warranty very shortly... if not already

Yes I have about a year left on my bumper to bumper warranty. I'll go get the trim replaced over winter break! Thanks!

So it's been a little more than a week since I got my FX and I love it. I really like how it drives / sounds!

But this car's giving me a lot of headache at the same time! The front grille needs to be replaced// the window trims need to be replaced// car makes high-pitched metal grinding noise in reverse (with the wheels turned all the way)// and most importantly, I'm experiencing the same ignition problem as some other members. The car hesitates to start after sitting in a cold weather for a day or so.

You can barely hear the engine noise (sorry for the bad quality guys-it was taken with my phone) but I'm holding the key to the "ignition" position the whole time the tachometer light is out. I'm thinking it's just a dirty TB or a dying battery. (If you want to, you can hear the sound if you turn up your volume ALL THE WAY:rofl:)

And here is what it did today. The tachometer is dancing!!!

I will definitely bring it in to the dealer to get this fixed next week. The car's only got 35,000 miles on it and this should be covered under warranty. Hopefully they can regenerate this problem right away and fix it!

BTW, how does the loaner program work?

For warranty work (which this surely is) you will get a loaner. All you do is supply your license and insurance docs. For your trouble tell them you want a new G coupe.

I had a new G37 sedan last week, very fast and fun little car.

where i get my loaners from, you have to be 21+ to be able to take it out... not sure if thats the case in VA. Afterwards, just make sure you return it with the same amount of gas it came with, no other costs

looks like in great condition. RSA'a are the worst tires ever!

Okay so I just called the Infiniti of Tysons Corner and they said that if the ignition problem is caused by a dirty throttle body, the cleaning of it WILL NOT be covered by warranty as it is a "maintenance" task. Is it true that if the problem is indeed caused by a dirty TB (which it most likely is), I need to PAY them to clean it for me?

Also, have you minors (under 21) had problems with getting a loaner? Can I just walk in with a friend who's over 21 and get the loaner under their name?

Why not do it yourself? I dont think there's anything easier to do outside of filling up your tank.

Okay, I guess I should first bring it in and confirm that the problem IS a dirty TB. If it is, then I can follow the write-ups and clean it on my own.

Man, this FX is giving me a lot of headache!! So many parts to get replaced and so many things to get checked!!! I've been getting horrible gas mileage too (around 10 mpg). But it's probably because I drive on campus (lots of stop & go). But don't get me wrong. I am really enjoying this ride.

So I brought it into the dealer yesterday.

As far as the grill and the window moldings are concerned, they said they'll replace the grill under warranty but said that Infiniti is not going to replace my moldings as they have replaced too many and they haven't redesigned it so the same problem will occur. If I really wanted them replaced, I would go to a different dealer and try again but I just don't feel like going through all that work just for the moldings right now. Maybe I will do it over the summer.

The squeaking noise that was coming from the rear of the car turned out to be a leaf with a thick backbone(?) that was stuck between the rotor and the pad. It was coated with brake powder. I doubt that this was the problem but the noise IS gone so maybe this was it. If the noise comes back, the dealer said they'll replace both of the rear rotors at no charge

I also had them check the TB because of the ignition problem. They said that it's clean and that the car didn't have any codes (or any history of codes, for that matter). The battery seemed to be fine, too. I'll be dropping it off at the dealer next week and will leave it there for a week and a half to let them duplicate the problem and fix it. I'm also trying to make them replace the driver's seat (back part) due to some cracks. Hopefully they'll replace it under warranty (I read some posts that some dealers replaced brick seats under warranty).

dang by the end off all this, your going to have a new fx haha

nice! like your persistence eric and thanks for keeping us updated
