I have a 2009 fx35 and ordered the tsx-r/fx-r clear lens from TRS. Who in here has done the swap? I ordered the spacers as well and from what info I received over the phone I will only have to play around with the spacers to get the desired color and cutoff. Is this true or will I need to remove the second shield and bend the first slightly? Also which shield do I remove, the one closest to the bulb or the one closest to the lens? Thanks for the help with my questions!

You need to modify the cut off shield. There was a diy here, but I couldn't find it right now

Please advise if you find it. When I got the lenses installed with my halos I didn't notice any difference and the cutoff has that greenish color. Not what I was expecting (n)

If you use the tsx lenses you have to cut off the front shield and add spacers or the cut off will look like shit

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't do this... about to buy the spacer kit and it says it comes with six pieces.. so do we add 3 spacers to both headlights?

So once the front cut off shield is removed will I get a much better cut off color? Can you tell me what part do I have to remove? I want to show the shop that installed my halo lights and this so they can do it.

Thanks

The shield marked in red is the one you cut, if you have the older lights the shield is shaped slightly different.

This will make the cut off sharper
Spacing the lens to the optimal focal point is where you get the color from
I found usually 2 cereal box thick cardboard spacers do the trick but sometimes you have to bend the shield to get the desired color band

Didn't think about using the cardboard from a cereal box.. Just saved me some money lol

So, when getting the desired color band... You're assembling then disassembling the headlights each time...?

No I would test fire them with the lens off so you can tweak them. I have a spare ballast (aftermarket one will work) with the d2s connector and hooked to a power source to bench test them

I actually have a set of those lenses in my house that I never used along with other items from my previous fx
