Question about trade-in value

I was wondering lets say I were to trade in the FX does the things that I've added increase the trade-in/resale value? Like how I've done a few mods here and there like how I added the front lip, tinted windows, lighting upgrade, etc etc?

I also find KBB to be pretty much useless and inaccurate. A lot of the things that come with the car like the tech, deluxe touring, dvd and tow package don't even show up on KBB to let me add it and keeps showing my FX as a base model with navi when I have every package and accessory possible.
 
In a dealers mind they really don't. You might be able to add a 100-200 extra for the front lip but everything doesn't really matter to them. I would say check out Nada.com for the value, their pretty accurate and that's what most banks and dealerships use.
I'm guessing you don't like the fact that your fx got hit and you don't think of it the same anymore so your possibly looking into a 11/12 FX ... possibly 50S ??
 
You won't get much for aftermarket options. Banks are using Nada guide and Dealers are using Black Book.

Mods may even REDUCE the value of your vehicle if they would like to certify it as CPO with a warranty. They'd have to spend dollars to bring it back to factory spec for suspension and lighting mods, so you may do better selling privately.
 
Aaron, I would never have guessed in a million years you would even consider this....all those times you said you would drive it until your baby's wheels fall off and now you are thinking of getting rid of her because of some bruises that can be easily fixed.
 
Wow your getting rid of your ride??? I hope your trading it in for a FX50. In the end no matter what mods you have it won't really add value to your ride.

Lol that would be a great trade in then, but if your getting rid of your fx for something else then that will really suck
 
If he trades it in for a M and not get another FX or worse yet another car, I'm going to slap him silly.
 
Nah I'm not getting rid of it. I was just curious about trade in value. Every year I check up on the trade in and retail, but it was pissing me off that KBB never shows the right info. Didn't know there were other websites out there since I thought that's all the dealers use.

By the way I wouldn't get rid of it cause of some accident as long as it can be fixed. Which by the way it's getting fixed as we speak :smile (2):
 
Never trust kbb or most of these ppl online, they don't know wassup
 
Aftermarket stuff - no one cares when you trade it in. The only thing that really affect your trade in value is a registered insurance claim over $3K , that really affects the value of your car (lowers it big time of course)
