question about 9006 55w vs 80w

I never even heard of 80 watt HID kits lol. Do they even make those? I wouldn't even use the 55 watt HID kits either cause you could melt the housing. Especially when using them in foglights cause the space inside the foglight housing is small, and all the heat in the small space could melt the housing. If I were you, I would stick with 35 watt HID kits. The factory harness was not made to support that much current.

i don't think OP is talking about HID kits, probably just regular halogen. I've seen regular halogen that goes up to 80w for ppl that what light output that is close to HID without doing the whole HID conversion. Either way I think the general consensus it that it would be a bad idea, possibly melting your harness. With halogen i don't think it will get hot enough to melt the housing but it is a possiblity

so how about 55w? i want to stay away from hid, since the yellow hid kit was greenish/ yellowish light output.. i am looking for a super yellowish light beam.. any recommendations?
