Hello Guys,
Just curious about your experiences on the bearings.
I had my front bearing replaced because it was bad and had it changed 22k kilometers ago about 9 months ago.
The new Nissan bearing was rotating heavier and was making more noise the last weeks.
So i changed it myself last weekend.
I wondered how that can be after such short period and km.
The only thing i can think of is i had 3 coated 20 inchers and 1 chrome 20-incher, the last one was rotating on the bearing i have just replaced.
Could that have been the cause of the bearing getting bad.
There is a difference in the weight of the wheels( rim with tire =>18 inch=27,5kg;coated 20 inch=30kg and chrome 20 inch=33 kg)
So one wheel ws 3 kg heavier the chrome one and could be the cause of the bearing getting bad in such short period.
Or is this all nonsense?

I've had two bearings replaced awhile ago under warranty. I have no idea how they knew, because I never heard the loud noise that I understand is associated with a bearing needing replacing. It seemed to be something that has issues a lot, but haven't touched mine in years. It could just be a bad bearing as well, although I don't know if there's any sort of warranty. I guess changing it yourself might make that harder to fight for.

Well the first time it was installed by a garage second time i did it myself and is not to hard to do.
But is there any mechanic reading this, meaning to give a probable cause? or giving an opinion on one wheel being heavier than the others causing this.

no the chrome one shouldnt be the problem. It might of been a defect from the factory, or it wasnt pressed in on right. Might also be from road conditions, if you drive on potholes all day it could prematurely wear.

The wheel weight isn't that big of a play here. Its just the design. Infiniti front wheel bearings on awd car weren't planned very well. Remember that everything was a modified 350z chassis which was purely made for rwd. They just adapted it to awd and tweaked it to do other things.
