QQ for those with Nismo S-Tune exhaust.

OK, so all that it would take to fit the Nismo 3" Y-pipe around the AWD transfer case would be custom extending the Y-pipe on each arm? I guess that will also eliminate the need for the G35 extension.
 
Stellanti my best suggestion is for you to search this forum and look at every single Nismo exahust thread that there is. There are a lot of helpful pics out there that will make it more obvious that having to listen to 5 people try to explain what works and doesn't. Do some digging and find the pics of the AWD and RWD setups, so you can see the differences between the two y-pipes.

I can't say for sure that the Nismo Y will fit even with the extension at arms. I was talking about the stock y-pipe. You'll need a y-pipe with longer, wider arms and shorter stem. IMO, Nismo is just too straight for it to fit.
 
trainerKen with a FX45 used the nismo y-pipe and made it fit by extending the arms to clear the transfer case. So it will fit if you want to go that route.

Alright, it is on and it sounds great. Deeper throatier tone than stock, but not obnoxious. Looks so much better than stock as well, there is somthing about those tips that just looks so great. No issues with using stock Y-pipe to Nismo Mid-pipe.

When I clean it, I will post take pics. It has been raining here for a month straight. Its depressing. I want a clean car!
 
That's good that it fits for you. It's not the prettiest, but since you're going small to large, There really shouldnt be any measurable difference.

What may not be "pretty" is under the car and I cannot see it. What is pretty, however, is the stainless steel Nismo can and aggressively shaped exhaust tips... oh and that tone... now that is pretty!
 
I'm sure it is, but what I meant by that, is although it works all good, the best fitment would be 3 to 3 . . . & of course to lose that stocky Y if you could have in the process.
At the least, this puts to rest the argument of keeping a stock Y to Nismo Mid.
 
Even if you have a 3" Y, then all your doing is moving the increase in pipe diameter from the Y-pipe/midpipe joint up to the cat/y-pipe joint right? doesn't seem like its doing much harm as it is. Obviously not ideal, but opening up everything after the y is better than nothing.

And yes, that tone is SEXY and does not get old.
