Quick Question Guys.

I am going Wednesday to get the Nismo S-Tune exhaust installed. I have the following:

-Nismo exhaust system and Mid-pipe
-Nismo exhaust replacement gasket/hardware kit
-G35 Extension

My question is... will there be a fitment issue between the 2.5" stock Y-pipe to the 3" Nismo Mid-pipe? I know that I cannot use my Nismo Y-pipe so I am leaving it at home (btw, it is for sale here).

Thanks in advance

Actually, I think it does fit from my recollection. I used the stock y-pipe with the G35 extension into the nismo mid-pipe for awhile before I installed the kakumie y-pipe and I don't remember having any fitment problems.

Edit...But then again I have a 45 so our pipe diameters are different.

I don't mean to change the subject here, but does anyone know which site i can find Nismo exhaust?? the thing is i tried a lot of sites and either they are out of stock or not available...right now im exhaustless..

thx..

I don't understand why everybody is saying it won't fit.. The flange is the same. The only difference will be that the 3.0" pipe will get downgraded instantly to 2.5" at the flange. It WILL fit.

Anyone have th Nismo Y-pipe modified to fit the AWD FX35?

What Y-pipe are the rest of you guys with the Nismo exhaust using?

you can get 2 G35 extentions and add them to the top pf the Y-pipe, mating between the cat and y. or as Dr2k said on another post "You can do what trainerKen did with his nismo catback on his FX45 AWD. What he did was cut and lengthen the nismo y-pipe and in doing so omitted the need for the G extension."

(thanks Eg3)

OP, here is some more reading for you for AWD

Ya, it's not like because they are different sizes, the mounting is completely different. It's not the optimum way to go, but it will work. Small to big is better than big to small, also.

So you have your answer. The parts physically do fit for the stock y to the nismo mid and you have a few options on which route to take for the y-pipe. Most have used the kakumie y-pipe or the nismo y-pipe for aftermarket parts.

I guess I will bring my Nismo Y-pipe and see if it can be modified to clear the AWD transfer case. This would be optimal from what I am gathering.

Thanks alot guys.

Or putting a size 5 diaper on a newborn. Sure it fits, but who wants to deal with the leakage

OR lost exhaust speed.. Yup, best approach in his case, IMO, is to get the exhaust shop fabricate a 2.5" to 3.0" extension instead of the G35 one. OR getting the Kakumei pipe OR extending the y-pipe on the arms..
