Putting the FX into DRIVE

hi all,

had a quick question i was hoping everyone could chime in on --

when putting your car from P to DRIVE (cold or warm) and the transmission engages into drive, is it normal to have a little bit of a kick or jerk forward?

i put my foot on the brake and put the car into drive and while my foot is on the brake the car engages into drive and lunges forward slightly

please let me know how it is when you guys shift into drive thanks!

backstory: it was always doing this since i owned the car, i did a transmission drain and fill with the correct nissan matic fluids at the shop and it still does it.

That could possibly be a bad transmission mount or engine mount. Could also be a bad driveshaft but it would also make noise on turns. Well thats my two pennies unless its a worn out gear in the tranny.

Its possibility be a broken engine or trans mount like Edwin pointed out. Have someone do a quick visual check when you shift into drive to see if the engine launches when shift into drive.

Define lurching forward. Some movement is normal, you're engaging a drive gear so you're loading the driveline when that happens. But excessive movement could be worn mounts.

A little jerk is normal like Shadow said....I also notice sometimes the jerk is a bit more pronounced when parked on slopes
or driveways with the car pointing upward or downwards
