Prospective Owner

Hey everyone! My name is Mike! I am looking into purchasing an FX the only question is which one?!?!?!?!?! I have heard some pros and cons of the 35 AWD and the 45 from different people and was wondering if I could get some REAL opinions from people who actually drive the car and live in that world! Any input would be highly appreciated! I am a college student so I'm worried about fuel economy a bit (but I'm buying an SUV so who cares, right?) I've been reading on this forum for a few weeks now and realized that everyone here is realyl smart about the FX and that's why I would ask this question. THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO POSTS!

-Mike

Welcome to the FX community!

The debate on whether to get a 35 or a 45 will rage on and on and on. In the end its all a matter of personal choice. v6 or v8? want to do a lot of modding then a v6 maybe the choice. But if you want lots of low end torque and the v8 rumble then the 45 is the right choice. Gas mileage between the two is negligible as it mostly depends on driving habits and style. Either one you can't go wrong! Have fun shopping for the FX for you.

By the way Dr. 2k your FX is incredible! So clean and so well modded! But let's see, I floor the gas pedal all the time, I hate driving speed limit, I usually go at least 10 over, and I think that Washington State drivers are AWFUL! :-D Hmmm, what else? Oh, I only really want to do visual mods, since the engines are so good anyway. Make it look clean and orderly. You know what I mean? What do you suggest now? ;-)

Welcome to the scene. You will be happy with your FX wheter it be a 35 or 45

Looks wise there is no difference from the 1st gen FX 35/45. The difference is under the hood.

Hey if you decide on the 45, I have a fully loaded pearl white with tan interior 06 with 70 k miles,Been meticulously maintained az car garaged one owner (my car)...ok enough with my sales pitch :):) just putting it out there

I agree to get more bang for your buck right out of the box... plus you pretty get much every option you would want that you would have to pay for separately on a 35...

BTW.. welcome to IS.

If I did it over again, I would have gotten the 45. Would have saved me a lot of money in engine mods, and I'm still no where as fast. Could have put that extra cash into the suspension.

But I still love the my 35, best car I have ever bought.
