Programming Keyless Remote Control **New FOB**

I lost my remote and purchasing a replacement off ebay, the vendor is also sending along instructions on how to program the remote for my 04 FX. Has anybody ever programmed a remote before? the instructions make it seem pretty straight foward. feedback from anybody with experience would be great. thanks in advance.
 
You should have no problems programming the FOB. First, make sure you have the right model:

then follow the directions that come with it. If they are incorrect and don't work you can follow these directions from infinitihelp.com:

Note: The horn chirp can be disable by pressing the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously until the hazard lights flash, and no enable press the lock and unlock until the horn chirp.

To reprogram (enter new ID) key fob (keyless remote controller) follow the steps.
1. Close all doors and lock all doors
2. Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder more than six times within 10 seconds.
(The hazard warning lamp will then flash.)
NOTE:
Key should be withdrawn from ignition key cylinder completely each time.
NOTE:
Do not rush the insertion/removal key cycling process. The side
marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is
accurately completed.
3. Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position
At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase.
4. Press any button on the new remote controller once. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash) NOTE:
Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button
is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.
The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this
step is accurately completed and programming is successful.

If there is only one remote controller skip step 5.
5. Additional ID code entry
Release the door lock, then lock again with door lock/unlock switch
(In power window main switch) 6. Remove key from ignition

7. Unlock driver side door, open driver side door and then close the door. (END)
NOTE:
 If you need to activate more than two additional new remote controllers, repeat
the procedure on step 5 "Additional ID code entry" for each new remote controller. NOTE:
Entry of maximum four ID codes is allowed and any attempt to enter more will be ignore.

thanks, i just bought a used 08 fx35 and it only came with one intelligence key..just bought another key on ebay and everything works..thanks...
 
intelligent key is the one in the keyless starter fob thats included in the tech package right? i thought only the dealer can program this..

The tech package comes with Navigational systems : information type: full map and voice and knobs/touch buttons controls DVD; Computer with instantaneous fuel consumption; Cruise control with distance sensors; Lane departure warning system

It's actually the hands free package that comes with the smart key and bluetooth.

Good to know that if you need an extra key that it can be done a lot cheaper than the dealer.

my FX is an '04 and there wasn't a handsfree (bluetooth) package available at the time so the intelligent key was part of the tech package.

that being said, people on the org are ill informed because they said only the dealer can program the intelligent key, leave it to infinitiscene to straighten out the facts!...now im off to hunt for a spare i-key!

Gotcha. Sorry about that. The guy that posted before you has an 08. I thought that was what you were referring to. My bad. Good luck with your search for a spare key!

actually i dint know there was a separate handsfree package either, thanks for clearing that up. i wish infiniti took the acura route and include most of their goodies as standard equipment and have only 1 or 2 large packages to buy...i remember pricing out an '09 FX and there was about 8k worth of packages you needed to add to get the stuff you really want.

also, what if its a used key on ebay thats already been cut for a diff vehicle?
 
Im so confused now.. I tought that in orderto program it you need to insertthe new key that you want to program.. The one in the key fob.. So if that key is not cut how will it fit in?

do you have the old key? I think the standard key thats inside the ikey can be cut by any locksmith (?).

thats like saying , will my current honda key work in my FX.
if the key is already cut, I would say you cant recut it to work.

get a blank key and have them cut it like the original.

only problem is when you dont have your original
 
Thanks Alan that solved my problem.. I was browsing thru eBay and saw a ikey for 40+.. I think I will get it and do this.. You said that a regular locksmith can make the key in the new fob just like my old one.. So that was my only concern..

OK guys, as far as I know, this method only works for regular key fob's. If one of you has done it for an I-key let us all know because I could be wrong. Everything I have seen refers to programming the I-key through the dealership only. That being said, buying the remote, or key can be done online at sites like keylessremotes.com. Getting keys cut can be done by most locksmiths. Only the programming for the I-key has to be done at the dealership.

Again, if you have the I-key, and have performed this procedure and it has worked let me/us know. I'd love to find out it works.

I remember I had to get a new ikey and the dealership charged me $150 just to program it.. That's why I kicking my self IN the butt because if this actually works it would be so much cheaper than taking it to the dealership.
