how do I find out my production # of my Fx, like the saleen mustangs!

you mean like #262 out of 500? i dont think FX's are so exclusive that they do that. look in the engine bay, passenger side, and there is a little metal plate there that has info.

There's several locations for your VIN, including the engine itself (block), your transmission, driver's side of your windshield near the wiper, driver's door sill on the right side (can see it with door open).

Your VIN number should be something like:

JNRBS08W83X400167

J - Japan (place of manufacture)
N - Nissan
R - Type of vehicle (crossover)
B - Engine (A = VQ35DE and many others, B = VK45DE and many others)
S0 - Model (FX)
8 - Body type (4-door utility)
W - AWD (electronically controlled)
8 - Check digit (0-9 or X)
3 - Manufactured in 2003 (A-Y for pre-2001, for example '98 is W, '99 is X, 2001 is 1)
X - Plant code, Nissan Hiratsuka Plant
400167 - Serial Number

Mine is:
JNRAS08WX3X------

J - Japan
N - Nissan
R - Crossover
A - VQ35DE
S0 - FX
8 - 4-door utility
W - AWD (U should be RWD version)
X - Check digit
3 - 2003
X - Nissan Hiratsuka
------ - My FX's serial numba

I happen to have one of the first 3,000 AWD FX35's ever created! Muwahah...

Someone mentioned most of this info, maybe not AS detailed, but I remember reading it somewhere. I looked for the post here and at the .org and couldn't come up with even a remote match! So I went through the same stuff I went through the first time around in looking for detailed info on it and grouped it all together from a few sources (started with Wikipedia, and had to move on from there as it was too broad to match our VIN description)

Where? at the infiniti dealer?

how do you read the serial number? i'm trying to see if my FX is one that might have the ipod connector thing that seemed to find its way onto some '07s. my serial number is in the 100,000s

so when im worried about if my 05 fx35 is a AWD or not, with a serial number of JNRAS08W15X, that means im having an AWD one right?
