Good Afternoon. I'll give as much information as I can and hopefully someone will have some advice on troubleshooting or even how to fix my issue.
First off I drive an '07 FX 35 AWD, regular key, NO Navigation.
Two years ago I installed the Viper 5501 Automatic Starter, and needed the Xpress Kit XK09. Everything works properly. Around the same time I also installed the Usa Spec Pa15-NIS for my iPhone. This also works fine. At this point Climate Control and everything in the vehical is working.
Last month I added the Viper Smart Start iPhone adapter to the Viper 5501. This was Plug and Play to the remote start.
To get the system to work with my Door Locks I had to put in the Xpress Kit XK02 Door Lock interface. This required only two wires to be soldered. One for Power, and One soldered to the Wire Harness to Control the door locks. It took a while but finally I was able to find the correct wire, (diagrams didn't match the correct # slot for the door lock in the harness), and after soldering the power, and door lock wire, this also worked properly.
So in the end I have the Viper 5501 remote start with XK09, the Viper Smart Start Module for smartphone controll, and the XK02 so the system controls my door locks.
Now for the problem which started after installing the smart start module and XK02 Door lock controller. The weather had been mild so I hadn't used the AC or Heat for a week or more. When I did try and use the Heat here is the problem. When I push the AUTO CLIMATE CONTROL and set the temp to say 68* the heat runs on full blast no matter what the temperate is in the car. The fan speed is on MAX, and it is blowing the hottest air possible. Normally the fan speed would automatically slow down, and the air temp would be lowered to bring the cabin temp to a constant 68* or whatever it is set at. To be clear I can MANUALLY lower the fan speed with the + and - adjustments, however the air temp is still at its highest. Even if I lower the climate controll to 60 it still blows the hot air on the highest fan speed. Last if I lower the Auto Climate Control to the lowest temp allowed the AC does kick on and it blows cold air. Same as with the heat though is the COLDEST air, and on the MAX fan speed.
Anyone have any thoughts on what could be affecting the Climate Control? Or what could have gone wrong?
Thanks and I appreciate any help.
David
