Pre-recall and Post-recall Projector/Headlight

If you look straight through the post recall lights you can see how the "V" shield rob light out put

And if you flip it upside down this is what is projected on the road it drops the beam off at the sides

:good: Good info Jeff. Thanks for explaining that!

What? Your headlights are way way too fancy for me bud!
As I remembered, its only takes like 40 minutes to install one bulbs and takes both of us to twist off the cap on the other side. :dont-know:

40 minutes per headlight lol

Just take a small thin flat head, jam it into the slot and pry it up a little by little and work at each of them equally, the ring should start to give and move.

Use a small screwdriver or tough knife. It won't be pretty once you get it off, but there's no way but to pry it.

When i did my headlights, i noticed that my post recalled headlights had a metal bracket protecting the ballast while the pre recall didn't have it.

can someone confirm this? I recently replaced my passenger headlight assembly and my mechanic said the only difference between the headlight coming out and the replacement is one had a metal bracket protecting the ballast and the replacement headlight assembly did not have a metal bracket mounting point.

so basically, i called infiniti and they said the headlight recall was done many years ago... now i have the passenger headlight without the metal bracket and i have the driver side headlight with the metal bracket mounting the ballast..

does that mean i have a pre-recall and post recall headlight installed? FML. someone confirm!!

the recall was for the projector shields, I have never seen a metal mounting bracket for the ballast
Maybe a pic would help out
