Power Stop brake kit

Hey guys,

quick question, about to pick up the stop tech drilled/slotted rotors (all 4) and either ebc green (4) for $419 shipped or akebono proact pads (4) for $425 shipped. Read a lot more positives for the akebono's tho... Anyways I was about to place the order until I ran across the power stop brake kit drilled/slotted with evolution pads $284 shipped!!
been looking and reading reviews for the power stop and can't find the info that I'm looking for. 3 guys on auto anything said great stuff and 1 said worse than oem (if that's possible...) lol. Sale price for both ends today 4/30 so if anyone has input on the power stops that would be awesome and greatly appreciated.
(I think on one of the rotors brakes threads on here one fella had these on his fx and said they were great for the 3 days he had them on so if he is still here and is reading this your input would be greatly appreciated!! Sorry I can't remember the members name...) thanks for all your help in advance! Also apologize if the answer to this is on the forum already but like I said I can't find specific reviews for these rotors and pads from an fx owner...

thanks again!

Same company as Stoptech; both are owned by Centric and both rotors are made overseas I believe (just talking about the rotors, not high end Stoptech BBK's). Don't know what they did to make them cheaper, but I'd say they're fine. Rotors are rotors, it's a big piece of iron. Unless they were cast really badly, you shouldn't have any issues. Pads I don't know about since I'm not familiar with that brand.

for pads, go with akebono - tested and work well by many on the forum.

for rotors, the best stopping power comes from blank rotors - most surface area. If you want looks and a better initial bite, go with slotted. Drilled is still prone to cracking even if done properly and fill the cooling vanes with brake dust. I believe Porsche is the only one that casts the holes vs. drilling.

My personal favorite is centric premium (milled to a better precision) with cyro treatment w/ slots.

thank you for the quick responses! yes, I heard that these rotors are actually made in China but are coated and finished? here in the USA (do not directly quote me on this but I think i stumbled upon someone stating this on another forum). I found them on Autoanything and with the sale as well as the discount code of 16% off they came to 284 shipped. Not a bad price.
As for the akebono's, yes i do not question those and are my first choice regarding brake pads if i do not go with the powerstop kit. Also, i agree that blanks would be most practical and then the slotted only 2nd in line but the looks of the drilled and slotted keep suckering me back in lol. Once again, thank you for all of your help and quick responses, much appreciated! Cant be the scene for answers!

I looked at Amazon and ebay (assuming you are talking about the power stop brake kit) and auto anything with the 16% discount ($284 shipped to door) was cheapest. Did you find them cheaper? Or are you referring to the stop tech?

I bought a set of powerstop slotted and drilled rotors along with OEM pads. While bedding the new pads in, they warped. Now they shudder like no udder.

Ive got drilled and slotted rotors from rich at rotorpros and posi quiet pads and they have been very good to me. Forgot how much i exactly paid for them but it was a pretty good deal from what i can remember. Bought them years ago
