Power Outlet Fuse Problem

Has anyone had the power outlet fuse blow out? Mine has done it 4x now and it's a bi$$h to get at. I think it happens when we need to wiggle our phone charger plugs in order to get them to charge (another problem). I need to carry spares and a small needle nose pliers, also a rag or napkin helps so that the fuses (old and new don't fall into the kick panel. Not complaining, it's the only problem I'v had.

It is definitely your phone charger. As soon as i would remove the charger from the plug you would hear a pop! Sure enough it was the fuse. I also did the same and bought a "box" of fuses and went through them in a matter of days. The dealer checked it out and said all looked good. Went and purchased a little cheapy charger for less than 10 bucks and knock on wood all is good!

It happened with more than one charger and I think my Garmin too, I wonder if they updated the outlets.

might have some thing in there shorting out the contacts, is there anything in there that you can see

Can't see anything wrong in there , might be the design. Also an arc could build resistance and pop the fuse, or constant arcing from not making a solid connection..........

Where is the fuse located? My outlet under my clock is not working so I assume the fuse blew out.

Can anyone chime in?

Thanks

No need for needle nose pliers, there is a tool on the fuse box. At least for the one under the steering wheel, left side.

Yeah, I carry spares too in my glove compartment.

Having similar issue - both the outlet under the OEM clock and the one located in the center console are not working - tried swapping out the fuse and nothing. Looking for a work around suggestion from anyone with experience. Thanks
