I just got my factory 20" wheels powder coated at Elite Coatings. They did an awesome job! Got center caps and grille match painted too.

Anthracite black metallic, with second stage clear powder coat on wheels.
Centers and grille were match painted with clear coat. I saved the chrome logo too.
Very happy with Elite Coatings!! Excellent work. They removed wheels, dismounted old tires, media blasted to bare aluminum, did 2-stage coating, mounted new tires and balanced, reinstalled on car, had plastic parts prepped and painted. All in two days for $923 total.

I see! I was thinking I needed to have 10 mods to write about before I rated to share pics! Thx for clarifying! I guess dats why I'm a NEWBIE!

Hey tom. I had my wheels done by elite also. Careful cleaning the powder coated wheels. They scratch sooooo easy. Quick question. Do you have any wheel shake with the powder coated wheels on?

Actually, I did notice a little wheel shake at 60MPH, but I can't seem to drive this thing less than 80 so not really an issue! Seriously, do you think the heat made the wheels warp? It is only 400 degrees I think...should be OK. I just figured it was a poor balancing job.

Its more of an issue of the powder coat being to heavy in one area of the wheel or accumulating on the wheel pad making for an uneven fitment against your hub (they should both be perfectly flat against each other). You can try taking them off and checking the pad first to make sure there is no powder coat build up then try road force balancing your wheels if it bothers you.

Regardless - GREAT choice on colors, the warmth of the anthracite plays well with the copper!

Yeah, I agree if the mating surface against the hub is uneven, that it could make wheel wobble. From what I read about the process, the powder can be like 0.100" thick! That could seriously affect things if uneven at the pad/hub. Thanks.
But any uneven coating on the wheel itself could be corrected with wheel weights.

Correct, a good Road Force balance will beat a pretty unruly wheel into submission.

Wondering what your headlight housings would look like in anthracite?
