I installed a USA Spec PA15-NIS tonight in my '05 FX35. I set it up for the folder+direct mode. All seems to be working correctly except that now when I listen to AM radio there is a loud buzzing sound making AM listening painfull. FM radio sounds good, CD's sound good, and music through my iPhone 4 sounds good. I used the 10-pin harness and I connected the floating ground wire to a screw on the radio chassis near the antenna plug.
I am wondering if it may be because of the ground wire connection, if it was even necessary to connect it. Is there any way to tell if it needed to be connected other than through trial and error? I'd rather not have to take it apart to disconnect the wire to check. My iPhone 4 does charge when it is plugged in however I never see any kind of "NISSAN and OK to Disconnect" message that the manual mentions.
Any ideas? Thanks.
