Poll. updating wheels.

Should I update my wheels from the V5 to the Qatar?

  • Yes. The Qatar's look great on the FX. 10.5's all around would be sweet.

  • No. The Qatar's don't look right on the FX. 10.5's make the FX look like a clown car.

Hi Guys and Girl,

Just taking a poll on updating my current wheels (gianelle V5 22x9 et10) to the gianelle qatar's 22x10.5 et35. The clearcoat on my current V5's are starting to chip, and i thought that buying the qatar's and fitting my existing 285/45/22 Falkiens on them would be cheaper them getting my V5's resprayed. Selling my current V5's for a couple hundred afterwards would make the switch not terribly expensive.

Any thoughts? Are 10.5's all around going to be ridiculous? Do the qatars look good on the FX? Are 285/45/22's going to fit flush to the 10.5 wide wheels (i'd get wider tires once the falkiens wear) ? I did some quick photoshop. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the wheel design of the Qatars, as a visual % gain over what you have seems like you are trading for dollars. FYI - I run 10.5's all around with 295/40/20's and they handle very well (I wish my tires did better in the rain but that's a different story). You can't see the fronts as they are buried in the well and the rears just look beefy......

Thanks guys for the feedback. It looks like the majority is liking my current setup. I think my current setup looks cleaner, and the wheel design complements the curves of the FX. The Qatar's look cool, but i think there is alot going on visually with those wheels. Maybe i'll put it off for a while and see if a cleaner design comes along.

I don't plan on lowering the FX. I've lowered my last two cars, and the uneven camber wear drove me crazy. I'm not sure if you guys are facing any uneven wear.

Good call what you have looks nice. Regarding the lowering, no significant wear issues yet with the BC's but I don't drive the FX a whole lot. The fronts should be fine, the rears will def be uneven over time, ehhh tires are cheap =) Do you have lowering springs?
