Pocono International Raceway

Nice Job on the Rotors Tay .. Have fun on on the track and make sure you take video's and lots of pics!!

Thanks guys, I'll do my best to represent :top:, I just hope I don't roll the FX over while trying to do my best :err::laugh:.

As far as the pics and vids are concerned, I think there will be someone there to take pics. But for some reason cameras are not allowed. Actually Kieran at the org, in the thread he started, explained more or less why...and the helmet stays white for now .

Here are the pics and comments Kieran posted at the org .

the 850HP Cobra I was instructing and got a car between us and, after that,
we never saw the S5 again all session):

This is when I was instructing... between the body roll and the angle of the

There are a bunch of the FX!

I think the guy focuses mostly on the beginner group because he's realized
that the other groups are a lost cause with getting them to purchase pictures
(still none of Ray or myself):

I think we got to the track about 7 am. After finding a parking spot for the cars, and the trailers, I had to go and complete my registration. Since Kieran, Ray and Mark were instructors that they, they didn't have to 'register':biggrin: .

That was followed by a brief drivers meeting and some information about the flags amd corner workers, and certain rules to follow when on track.

There was a classroom session from 8:44 to 9:06. Going over the rules, flags, hand signs, etc.

We were at the grid from 9:06 to 9:28, and on track from 9:28 to 9:50 for the first session. My first session was terrible I think. There was so much going on, it was hard to concentrate.

There was a lunch break between first and second sessions. Kieran, Mark and I went to WAWA to pick up some stuff, very decent store.

Second classroom session was from 12:45 to 1:00. Were on grid from 1:00 to 1:15, and on track form 1:15 to 1:37. I did well this time around. It was easier to concentrate and focus on the track, where to brake, speed, etc.

Got on the grid from 3:45 to 4:10 for the third session. We were on track from 4:10 to 4:35. This session was good also. Made that one mistake, and got pissed off, but tried to keep a cool head. Kieran's instructions were much appreciated at that time.

Didn't wait around for the fourth and the final session. It wasn't untill 5:35, and considering I needed to drive home for 2-3 hours, I decided to leave after my third session. Good thing I left when I did because there was already traffic.

I think FX did great for what it is (with non-sport, stock suspension). Handled turns well for a "tank" (one official called it that), sped up quick on straights, and braked ok. I put on the pads that came with the rotors, posi quiet or something, wasn't impressed with their performance though. I think stock pads worked better.

Overall, it was a great weekend for me. Met new people, made new friends, and had fun with my FX on an official race track :xd: :top:.

Very cool Turk! Glad you enjoyed yourself and the FX looked to handle itself just fine on the track. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Looks like it was a total rush. How was the track surface?

What's that beater Camry doing out there?

Thanks Pierce, I had so much fun, and yes, FX did really well for what it is .

Nice pics Turk!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did you like it?
I loved it Will, can't wait to do it again :xd:.

Looks like it was allot of fun...
It sure was Humberto, I didn't even realize how quick the day went by :err:.

It was such a rush Dave. Track surface was pretty good. There was only a couple of spots where it seemed like a pot holes were filled up, other than that it was smooth.

And yes, there was that Camry/Avalon...whatever it was . You had to give that guy credit though, I mean I was a little intimidated running amongst all the high powered machines...and there was this guy just doing his thing :crossedlips:. I don't think his calipers ever stopped smoking .

Yeah, I made a big mistake in my last session btw. Basically I thought I could take that first high speed right hander, right after the super speedway, faster than I did the last time...that was not the case :embarrassed:, so I had to run off course for a few feet, and than re-enter the course. Kieran said I recovered well, but to me, it's still a mistake :crossedlips:...

Few more pics from my camera phone.
