Does the plenum spacer mod have application for the 2009's?

i thought the HR is already in Z's, the "rev-up" engine? With the 09 FX35 I think they also started using a dual exhaust system so it looks like it's as efficient as it gets right now. I think the best mods you'd do would be on the mufflers. There might be more mods coming up for it if they use the same engine in the upcoming Z but so far there isn't any..
yeah it is in the 06 or 07+ Z's, I was somehow thinking the new Z would have the HR too but it looks like it'll have the HR engine at the G37. Basically, the only cars on the Nissan/Infiniti lineup using HR will be EX35, FX35 and the now-old Z.i thought the HR is already in Z's, the "rev-up" engine?
hopefully they bring the FX37 over here soon, i believe they have it in Europe, or will shortly.Who knows, maybe the ex35 and fx35 will become ex37 and fx37 in a year or two.
Hope Im not being a thread hijacker but I wanted to know what the benifits are on installing the plenum spacer? Is it offered for the FX35?

nope. 09 35 is the HR engine. It has a completely different upper and lower intake manifold design. I believe they fixed that front three cylinders not getting enough air issue with the HR revision thus minimized the gains you'd have from a spacer..
Did the revison increase air volume so we wouldnt need the spacer? or did the revision inhibit us from putting a spacer?

Both. In the previous design, the forward incline on the upper plenum prevented the front two cylinder runners (inlets) to get much less air. Plenum spacer allowed more air in there while also increasing the overall air volume for more higher end power. In the new design, the upper plenum is flatter and I believe both the runners and the heads have a better flowing design. Aside from all this, HR is a very new engine and it has just been offered to the Z community, which is the core of all the modding.. In time we'll see if there might be any improvements on it but currently the only mods are cold air intakes and custom exhausts.. There are some aftermarket exhausts for the g37 but I don't know if that'll fit fine with the FX
