please help FX 08 Garmin Navigation system

Hello Guys ,

i have infiniti FX 08 , and it has a garmin Nav system but it show me the msg that maps old and need upgrades ( since i bought it ) , i tried to search all over the internet to find where can i find the device installed in my car , but no chance , some forums mention its under the front seat of the passenger , but no , not in my car , as per the agency they told me its behind the Radio Screen , and it has no DVD any more they are using chips or memory something like that !!!:eek.:

please guys if anyone can help me and tell me where can i find it and how can i upgrade it ?
 
I have the Navigation package installed in my 2008 FX35. The GPS DVD system is under the front passenger seat. I must put the seat all the way forward. The player opens towards the backseat from the top down.

i have checked again and attahced some picture , there is not DVD under the seat , i can not find anything , and i dont know how to upload the picture here
 
Do you have the controls on the console instrument panel to run the navigation? Not having this DVD player under the seat makes me wonder if you have the built-in navigation system.
 
i just consult a friend in the maintenance center and he told me the navigation system is behind the radio , i already remove the radio and didnt find it , i am getting crazy guys

@ the merchant : no its Garmin , this is what shown in the screen when i try to start the navigation , even it display a msg asking me to upgrade my maps by login to garmin website.


any ideas guys ? please
 
If it says garmin, it is aftermarket and not oem. Open up the center console and inside the FX for a dvd looking unit. Sounds like the previous owner installed an aftermarket nav unit and installed a navtv unit to feed the video to the oem screen or did a complete install/replacement of the oem screen. Can you take pictures and show us what this looks like.

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer, meaning original from the factory. I believe you have an aftermarket navigation unit installed by the previous owner.
All you need is 5 more posts to upload pictures.
 
ok , i take my decision , i will dismantle all the part and trake the navigation system to know where it will end
i am feedup searching for it with no results :vader:

guys , finally i find that box ,

and yes no DVD , its a kingston memory card , i find it at the right side of the car , near the passenger seat , i am very happy ,

second step , upgrading that stupid box and make it a live again :tongue (2): :top::wink (2):
 
Bit late reply, i know, but where did you find it exactly? I've got the exact same problem!

Never mind, already there... Behind the LCD screen, under center speaker.
