Please help - Driver-side rear door will not open from the inside

Hey everyone,

My left-rear door cannot be opened from the inside. All the other doors are behaving normally and the exterior door handles all work perfectly. The child lock is off and I am able to open the right-rear door normally from the inside.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? How can I determine what is causing the issue and how can I resolve it? It's both dangerous and irritating to not be able to open the car from the inside when I have passengers in the rear.

I think it may be the door actuator...maybe someone else can chime in?? I know these are known for going bad...
 
Does it act the same as the other side if you turn on the child lock? If so, maybe the child lock failed and is on even with the switch set to off. You will probably have to have someone take it apart and see the connections. I haven't seen the one on the fx, but often those things are held together with a little plastic clip.
 
Hey guys thanks for the input. If I put the child lock on the right door it behaves the same as the left so I bet it's some sort of disconnect like tomwetherald said.

I'll check it out and see what happens
