Plastidip - Gunmetal

This past weekend, i tried plastidip black + glossifier over a spare rim lying around. No pictures but the black plastidip was a little sticky, however after the glossifier was sprayed on, it became REALLY sticky after curing. Can't imagine how much dust and dirt it will attract, plus a PITA to keep clean. The glossifier isnt a true gloss either, it just adds a minimal amount of shine (did 6 layers of gloss). Maybe i'm doing it wrong but in person it was no where comparable to what pictures show.

Thanks for the input. I've seen some NICE jobs on various cars with the gloss coating, but had no idea about the sticky factor.

I did my very first coat of dip back in '11, stripped and did a new application a year later, and I'm approaching 2 years with this last application. So far, so good...i'm happy as is w/o the gloss.

Didn't have a chance to make better pictures, but here are a few of the Anthracite Gray from dipyourcar.com. 4 coats of dip plus 2 coats of glossifier.

In regards to peeling the plasidip off with glossifier, it doesn't make it harder. I did one round of matte black with glossifier before i purchased the anthracite and it peels right off. Also wd40 does wonders.

I plastidipped something one day and i wanted a little more shine. What i used to get some extra shine was interior shine spray. The stuff you use to shine your plastics and dash. Worked pretty good.

im thinking of doing this to my FX50 rims before i put them on the FX for the winter im just wondering how it will hold up in the winter with the snow and stuff.

Seriously considering plastidipping my house.

Not sure how much glossifier I'll need, I really want it to hold up.

You can paint with other spray paint over plastidip if you want more colors or more gloss look. I used a metallic flake wheel paint over plastidip. Still peeled right off when I changed them.
Also you can use the cheap citrus Zep degreaser to reliquary plastidip to remove it easily
