Plastidip Blacked out headlights

Opened up my angel eye headlights and decided to ditch the halos. They've been burning out on me and I've bought way too many fuses for the #71 position in the fuse box. Decided to just go all matte black to match my wheels and exhaust too. I ended up using plastidip because it was so easy and it actually turned out really really good. Got a little bit of texture to it, but the matte finish is nice. Here are some prelim pics. Going to polish up the lenses before final install. Really thinking about plastidip'ing my grille now, the krylon is starting to chip bad.

my lights have been opened a couple times now and the adhesive is running thin, any suggestions on some stuff I can put on that's similar to the stock adhesive? I got some Seal-All contact adhesive and sealant, don't know if it will be as good or too good so if I ever wanted to open them again, I still could with the oven-method.

post the lights's pictures after you get them done, would you ?. I need to learn from you how to do the grille, live near by I-635 & 75. Email is phn446@yahoo.com. THX. Paul.

pretty easy. i mean with the plasti-dip, you don't even have to prep the surface. just a few light, even coats. it's all about not getting anxious after the first coat and be like "crap, i haven't covered every inch of the surface, better put more on!".

i originally painted mine with krylon but since every truck in dallas has rocks and mud on it's tires that gets flicked onto my grille, I'm gonna try the more durable plasti-dip coating on the grille soon.

they look really nice man, good job

thanks! now i'm trying to convince my girlfriend to let me paint all her chrome parts on her new mini cooper.

yes, home depot. here's the finished pics. did some polishing of the clear lense. did the advice I got on wet sanding, followed by drill-powered polishing. really made a big difference as my lights were near yellow, not brand new, but so much better!

by the way, i suck at taking pictures.

I painted the stuff left of the intake a couple days ago. Looks good, kinda like Pierce's engine cover. I may put black/clear on my engine cover and put it back on.
Here's a couple shots:
