Bedlined Stock 20s!!

You probably saw my post about Plasti Dip Stock 20s

I liked the black so i went ahead and went full steam ahead with a more permanent fix. Rustoleum Bed Liner Spray

Steps

I took all the wheels removed the plasti dip and cleaned them

Sanded them with 60 grit paper (recommended for bedliner spray-i know that is a pretty rough grit)

Let all the air out (boring step here without the tool to remove the valve stem- i held a phillips screwdriver in the valve for a long time)

I then placed playing cards all the way around the rim

rolled them out to the back yard (beautiful day no breeze clear sky)

ok with me but its a similiar subject :)

wanted people to see this one not too concerned if they see the old one (some may not want to read all of it)

no complications :) very pleased for my first attempt at wheel modification (2nd if i count plasti dip)

How difficult was it to remove the Plasti Dip?

Was there lots of overspray on the inside of the wheels?

for me I removed the plasti dip with a coin op pressure washer-I put it on fairly thin knowing it wasnt permanent. i tried peeling first but it was difficult (it is suppose to peel better with a thick coat) i scrubbed whatever else was left off of the wheels with castrol super clean and a dish scrud pad.

there was not very much overspray on the back/inside of the wheel due to it being sprayed downwards. most seemed to be in my grass

I dont really like the truck bedliner look....just looks like primer...typical matte black look. I honestly think satin black would have looked a lot better, if not just a gloss black. These look good for a winter setup, or a temp setup....idk if I would rock those as my main set...
I also disagree with the matte=sport gloss=class that everybody seems to agree with....

but hey, nice DIY work!

it is about the same level of shine as tire wet tire shine on tires-it shines this stuff just like tires.

i also went with this for ease of use, difficult to mess it up etc. im no painter. other than my garage i have not painted much at all. not sure which came out better :) lots of positive feedback on both so far (a bit of negative on both as well-some dont think orange belongs in a garage )

Out here all of the mare aggressive looking cars have the flat rims (Range rover, BMW, G37ext.). I like the look of the rims. It changes the ride a lot! I haven’t seen an elegant looking car that had anything flat on it.

i used Tire Wet Tire Shine to gloss them as well as the tires. No more beeing careful not getting tire shine on my wheels now. just spray rims and tires :)

really, umm anything i should be aware or any tips before spraying onto them?
edit- oops i thought this was on the plasti dip, i tryed prying the chrome emblem and wouldnt come off, how did you take it off?

u can just pop it off from the other side, or on the front.
u can paint the wheels with plasti-dip without removing the wheels from the fx and no need to cover the tires coz it will come off, i didnt take the wheels off the fx.
if you have a fx suv cover use that to cover your fx if you want but no need. and if you dont want it to drip then just do spray lightly and then wait few mins then do it again lightly. i painted all 4 18" wheels with 2 cans.

I noticed there was things holding the emblem, i tryed to pry it open from the edge, but worried it would crack, Should i use a heat gun?

I slid a narrow flathead screwdriver under mine and worked them off. Plasti dip didn't last long at all for me so I went with Berliner. I had separate posts but they got merged
