Plasti Dip Project..

Today i started my Plasti dip project on the stock 20" wheels.
I gave the wheels a good clean, after i've cleaned them again with Meguirs claybar and spray wich took another pile of shite from the wheels.
And after that i degreased them completly and started spraying around.

Tomorrow i will make some pictures, i will not fit them yet because i still want to stay a bit longer on the winter set as long as the average temp is below 10 Degrees Celsius.
On the other hand.....i can't wait to fit them and see how it looks....

Here some pics of the wheels.
I really like the finish of plasti dip, now see how long it will last...

And, for other people how want to use plasti dip i have a good tip: Make sure the spraycan is stored warm, if it's nice and warm it sprays much better.
I kept them in the garage first, but after i did a coat on the 2nd wheel i took the can with me inside.
So when i started to spray the next coat i noticed straight away it was a much finer mist when spraying.
A lot of you guys in the warmer states of the US have no interest in this at all but for the people how also have a cold climate at the moment might try this!

He is from PR and he has used it quite a bit.

so it seems there are still some pros and cons with plasti... but it might be the best deal... since i painted mine (krylon satin black) almost a year now its bombarded with nicks

Painted my grill with krylon fusion also. I have a few chips.

Plasti dip to me is so so.

Beast45 come to the meets dude... =]

+1 on the chips and krylon. But thats also most likely we do a lot of highway driving on salty roads. boo.

chips are going to happen, but does anyone have recomendations on how to paint a grille durable enough to prevent the majority of chips? I was thinking about wrapping the face of the grill with gloss black and leaving the "inner spokes with the bubbles" of the grille painted gloss black...

My painted grille from Turbocad had 0 chips after over a year, including driving to school and back a bunch of times......
chyeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh (too bad the FX35 is gone along with the grille haha)

ah i shoulda really just drove up and got the grill from you JB :tonguey:

I want to spray only parts of my rims so need to mask.
Do I need a special masking tape? Assume this stuff dries very fast so I guess I must remove the tape very fast?
