Hey all. For those of you with aftermarket amps, specifically for an aftermarket sub, do you attach your amp to the sub box? If not, where do you place yours. My fear is that the sub will rattle the amp too much. Should I even be concerned about the rattle or can the amp take the rattle. I am assuming it will be just fine but I have been wrong before...ha!

I don't like putting my amp on my sub box for two reasons. First the vibratoin could damage the amp, second if someone breaks in your vehicle all they have to do is take the sub box and they get everything. I put my aftermarket amp on the back of my back seat.

Here is how I installed mine. I had it in spare before, but the amp produced too much heat and was fried after 4 month of use, so I relocated everything.

^I currently have mine just like Zebra, originally had a box for it in the spare but there wasn't enough air flow to keep it cool. However thinking of making a custom wheel well mold to mount in on a side. It's kind of in a way when you need the flat cargo space.

That is a great spot for a smaller amp. Thanks for the idea. It is almost like Infiniti and Bose was going to use that spot for the main system amp and then changed their minds at the last minute and placed the Bose amp in its current location instead of that notched location by the tire.

Hey mbarb, i have the same boss amp i bought from amazon. Are you just using it to give more power to your stock sub? Does it make a difference?

yea, i have it running my stock subs and its night and day... the stock subs are completely under powered and it makes a huge difference.. i posted a thread on here regarding the how i did it

How does that sub box sound?
Does the amp get real hot/goes into thermal mode in that mounting location?
Box sounds good, I get lots of bass and its not very obtrusive to the cargo area. The amp has never shut off or had any issues being placed there (about 4 years now )
